Official Membership Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

By applying to join SANUU, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. SANUU is a collective organisation focused on fighting unemployment, reducing poverty, and building sustainable economic opportunities through unity and shared participation.

2. Membership Eligibility

  • Membership is open to all South Africans aged 18 years and above
  • Applicants must provide true, accurate, and complete information
  • SANUU reserves the right to approve or decline any application

3. Purpose of Membership

Members agree to support SANUU's mission:

  • To fight unemployment and poverty
  • To build collective businesses (spaza shops, farms, livestock, markets, industries)
  • To create economic opportunities and community empowerment

4. Contributions

  • Members may contribute voluntarily: R50, R100, R200 or more
  • Contributions are used for:
    • Business development and projects
    • Job creation initiatives
    • Operational and administrative costs
  • All contributions are non-refundable, unless stated otherwise by SANUU

5. Collective Ownership Principle

  • SANUU operates as a collective economic movement
  • Businesses are developed under the SANUU brand for community benefit
  • Membership does not guarantee individual ownership, salary, or profit, but access to shared opportunities

6. Member Responsibilities

Members agree to:

  • Act with honesty, discipline, and integrity
  • Support SANUU programs and initiatives
  • Protect the SANUU name, brand, and reputation
  • Promote unity and avoid division within the organisation

7. Code of Conduct

  • No discrimination, harassment, or unlawful conduct
  • No misuse of funds or fraudulent activities
  • Any violation may lead to disciplinary action or termination

8. Opportunities & Participation

SANUU may provide:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Business participation opportunities
  • Skills development and training

Access depends on:

  • Availability of projects
  • Member commitment and participation
  • Organisational growth

9. Communication

Members agree to receive communication via:

  • Email
  • WhatsApp
  • SMS or official SANUU platforms

10. Data Protection & Privacy

  • Member information will be used only for SANUU purposes
  • SANUU will take reasonable steps to protect personal data
  • Information will not be shared without consent unless required by law

11. Limitation of Liability

SANUU is not responsible for:

  • Individual financial decisions made by members
  • External losses beyond its control
  • Participation is voluntary and at own risk

12. Termination of Membership

SANUU may terminate membership if:

  • Terms & Conditions are violated
  • False information is provided
  • Member acts against SANUU's mission or integrity

13. Amendments

SANUU reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Members will be informed of significant changes.

14. Job Opportunities Disclaimer & Member Commitment

  • SANUU is committed to creating jobs and economic opportunities through collective action
  • However, SANUU does not guarantee immediate employment to any member

Members acknowledge that:

  • The job market is highly constrained and affected by unemployment challenges
  • Building sustainable opportunities requires time, growth, and resources
  • Not all members will receive opportunities at the same time

SANUU will:

  • Develop businesses and economic projects
  • Build partnerships with companies, stakeholders, and organisations
  • Work toward fair access to opportunities

Members agree to:

  • Be patient and committed
  • Support long-term growth
  • Participate actively in SANUU initiatives

15. Acceptance of Terms

By applying or signing, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
  • You agree to abide by SANUU policies and principles
